Christian Dior Resort 2017

Blenheim Palace, England

Louis Vuitton Resort 2017

Rio de Janeiro, Brasil

Mixture between in and out of the water, the Louis Vuitton Resort collection transports you into the world of edgy/sporty surfer from the 90's travelling all over the world for waves.

Bright light colors font référence to the sporty look many cool californian kids will wear over the summer, while the flying fabric, that look like seeweed, add a touch of feminity to the collection.

This major theme is only one of many interpretation you can have from the  collection. The technological/video game new design approach from the company's creative director Nicolas Ghesquière is still very present.

That said, this surfer theme seems to be quite a trend of the moment since many celebrity such as Blake Lively worn Red carpet desses inspired by the wave hunter look(related to her upcoming film, The Shallows).

Chanel Resort 2017

Havana , Cuba

The tea hour never present this much patterns and flowers before. Strongly inspired by the english country side style mixed up with ancient flourish fabric, la maison Dior shows that you can still look modern with classic cuts and ornements. In a certian way, the show remind me of the Gucci SS16 collection. The catwalk disposition, the throwback atmosphere and élaboration of the different fabrics are some reasons why I make this comparison.

From annother angle, you can note that some look and cut are similar to the previous show, to prove that a signature is being elaborate since the departure of Raf Simons.

Let's travel over Latin America to find a retro feel developed with pastel colors. A première for Chanel, it's show was presented in Havana, Cuba where a rainbow of brightly-coloured clothes where introduce. The pieces where light and the fabrics floated through the wind.

This collection is a joyfull mixture beetween éternel chic and Fiesta vibes.

Gucci Resort 2017

Westminster Abbey, England

This metallic colored collection mixed up with Tartan fabrics, leather, Brillance and many other ornements make our sins increase by the time the collection come to an end. A lot of elements are a reference to religious symbols such as stained-glass window and Auréole. You can also notice those heart shaped ornements on different silhouette.

The colors are rich and dark related to shades royalty would probably wear. Their is also  a touch of medieval style.

Roberto Cavalli Resor 2017

Related words come to our mind when we look at the different looks from the collection. Italian garden, Festival, Flowers and the 70's are the major caracteristics of the Resort line. The pattern mixture is perfecly done while the clothing pieces vary from jackets to evening gowns.

The overall atmosphere is still very seductive with a lot of fluidity and of course the iconic leopard skin print.

Bottega Veneta Resort 2017

Full of leather, the Bottega Veneta Resort 2017 collection reminds me of those immenses structure we see  in the Manhatan sky. With sweet and pale colors, this collection made me also think of those futur inspired buildings with alot of movement and rounded lines.

It's modern but also chic giving confidence to the woman wearing the clothes. The shoes have a little retro look while the handbags are perfectly shaped.

It's a dreamy collection where chic and confort got together, giving us the perfect casual friday looks.

Marc Jacobs Resort 2017

New York City

This collection is an explosion of colours and different prints. Marc Jacobs brought back the 80’s ladies with a lot of brillance and a funky style. From my point of view, I have the impression that the looks represent a young girly girl gone for her teenage years but instead of changing her style, she  kept her princess skirt and added an edge to it.

The MTV logo on the collection’s sweaters can explain  this vision of mine. We can also note that the animal prints have an important presence creating a wild aspect to the looks.

Givenchy Resort 2017

A new classic is born!

The iconic pearl necklace every lady owns is now gone. This collection made me think of a pearl necklace which was ripped off and all the little pearls flew everywhere. Except that in this case, the pearls went down on the clothing creating a classic revolution. This revolution include a rebel style with the big leather boots and their lace.

All of these caracteristics brings a more provocative approach to the collection. The round shoulders give a strong personality to the looks showing that the girl wearing the clothes is confident and firm.
